Among them are Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart released in 2021, the Spyro the Dragon series, and of course the beloved Marvel’s Spider-Man series. Now, the popular studio aims to bring another iconic Marvel character to our screens with a brand-new game. The release date for Marvel’s Wolverine has been confirmed, and we’re here to share all the details you need to know.
🕹️ When is Marvel’s Wolverine releasing?
The PlayStation 5 exclusive action game Marvel’s Wolverine will launch on September 15, 2026. Both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro owners will be able to play it from day one. For other platforms, no announcement has been made yet, so the release date currently applies only to PS5.
The new game will focus on Wolverine, telling an original story centered around Logan. According to the studio, this game will be much more “mature” and “brutal” compared to Insomniac’s other titles. Players can expect a fast, fluid, and savage combat system that highlights Wolverine’s unique abilities.

• Close Combat: The combat system will be fast, fluid, and a bit savage. Wolverine’s Adamantium claws will be the core of the mechanics.
• Logan’s Healing Ability: His superhuman healing powers will play a significant role in gameplay.
• Traversal: Think of it as “a Spider-Man without webs.” Players will be able to parkour across challenging areas thanks to Insomniac’s expertise in traversal mechanics.
• Map & Locations: Confirmed settings include Madripoor (a fictional island), Canada’s snowy wilderness, and Tokyo’s narrow streets.
• Wolverine’s Actor: Liam McIntyre will provide voice acting and motion capture for Logan.
• Main Villains: Two villains have been revealed—Mystique, the shapeshifting mutant, and Omega Red.
• Independent Storyline: The narrative will be completely separate from the comics and films. Insomniac’s Strategy Lead Ryan Schneider said: “Building a new and original universe with Spider-Man and Wolverine is a great honor for us at Insomniac Games.”
